Eligibility
Educational Qualification
Graduation from a recognised university, or an examination recognised as equivalent by the State Government, passed on or before 01 August 2026.
Other Eligibility Conditions
- Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Male, female and third gender Home Guards may apply.
- Must be an enrolled and trained Home Guard in the Bihar Home Guard Vahini organisation with at least 5 years of service/duty completed in the organisation.
- Must have at least 10 years of service remaining as on the cut-off date (01 August 2026) considered for appointment.
- Must possess the physical and educational qualification suitable for the post.

The fee must be paid online. Accepted payment modes are Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card and UPI transactions prevalent in the country; no other payment mode is accepted. The final merit list for appointment will be prepared strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Written Examination, category-wise, in order of merit.

Candidates scoring below 30% in the Prelims will be declared unsuccessful for the Mains. Successful candidates equal to 20 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted category-wise, in order of merit, for the Main Examination (this ratio may be reduced if sufficient qualified candidates are not available).

A minimum of 30% marks in Paper I (General Hindi) is required to qualify; failing this will lead to disqualification. In both Prelims and Mains, 0.2 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Based on Main Examination marks, candidates equal to 6 times the vacancies will be shortlisted category-wise, in order of merit, for the Physical Efficiency Test.

Candidates must qualify the race within the fixed time to be allowed to attempt high jump, long jump and shot put; a maximum of three attempts is allowed in these three events. Third gender candidates follow the same physical standards and PET norms as Backward Class candidates.
Physical Standards (Height, Chest, Weight)
No marks are awarded for height, chest or weight, but candidates not meeting the prescribed standards will be declared unsuccessful.
- Height (Men): Unreserved/Backward Class — minimum 165 cm; EBC/SC/ST — minimum 160 cm.
- Height (Women, all categories): minimum 155 cm.
- Chest (Men only): Unreserved/BC/EBC — 81 cm unexpanded, 86 cm expanded; SC/ST — 79 cm unexpanded, 84 cm expanded (minimum 5 cm expansion required in both cases). No chest measurement for women.
- Weight (Women, all categories): minimum 48 kg.
How to Apply

- Click on the link related to Advertisement No. 11/2026 and start the application process.
- Register using a valid, active mobile number and e-mail ID; complete Part I of the online form with name, nationality, mobile number, e-mail ID, domicile, reservation category, gender and date of birth.
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI.
- After successful registration and payment, log in using the registration number and password sent via SMS/e-mail, and complete Part II of the form with father's/husband's name, mother's name, address and educational qualification.

- Review all details on the "Edit Details" screen before final submission, since no changes are allowed after the application is submitted.
- Print the acknowledgement receipt on A4 size paper after submission and keep it safely for future reference.
Only one online application can be submitted per candidate; multiple applications from the same candidate will all be rejected. Only one application can be made per mobile number, since the registration ID and password are sent by SMS to that number.
