Engineers India Limited (EIL), a Navratna PSU, has invited applications for the engagement of experienced Associate Engineers on Fixed Term Basis in its SCM-Inspection Department under Advertisement No. HRD/Rectt./Advt./2026-27/10. A total of 20 posts are available for Mechanical/Metallurgical and Electrical Engineering candidates for inspection of critical equipment and materials for Refinery, Petrochemical and other Oil & Gas Projects.

Vacancy Details
Vacancies are available for two position codes, with category-wise reservation breakup as per Government of India directives:

Eligibility
Educational Qualification
For Position Code A (Mechanical/Metallurgical), candidates must hold BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPI, acquired within the prescribed minimum course duration. For Position Code B (Electrical), the requirement is BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical Engineering with the same minimum percentage/CGPI condition.
Experience Requirement
Both position codes require a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification relevant experience as on 31.08.2026. For Code A, relevant experience includes inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns/towers, reactors and other fabricated static equipment (as per ASME) or pumps/compressors (as per API) for refinery and petrochemical services, along with knowledge of welding processes and engineering drawings/codes. For Code B, relevant experience includes inspection of electrical equipment such as switch boards, motors, transformers, alternators, synchronous generators, VFDs, UPS, electrical control systems, battery chargers, power/control cables and electrical bulk items, along with knowledge of IEC, NEC and IS codes.
Age Limit
The upper age limit for both position codes is 32 years as on 31.08.2026. Age relaxation is applicable as follows:
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years relaxation on the upper age limit.
- Ex-Servicemen: Upper age limit is relaxable.
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation.
- PwD-General/EWS: 10 years relaxation.
- PwD-OBC (NCL): 13 years relaxation.
- PwD-SC/ST: 15 years relaxation.
Remuneration
Selected candidates will be engaged as Associate Engineer Grade I on a consolidated monthly remuneration (including HRA & PF), which varies by city category:

Other Benefits
- Reimbursement of Medical Insurance Premium for self, for insurance cover up to Rs. 2,00,000 per annum.

- Payment of Travelling Allowance for official duty travel outside the place of posting.

Place of Posting
The place of posting shall be at the National Capital Region (NCR), Regional Offices, Regional Procurement Offices, Branch Office, or different construction sites across the country. Depending on organizational requirement, the place of posting can be anywhere in India or abroad.
Terms and Conditions
- The hiring is purely on fixed term basis, initially for a period of 3 years (as applicable).
- Unless services are terminated earlier, the engagement will automatically end on expiry of the fixed term.
- Candidates may be required to work anywhere in India and abroad, depending on requirement.
- Selected candidates will be allowed to join only if found medically fit.
- No claim for regular appointment in EIL will be entertained by virtue of having worked on fixed term basis.
Selection Process
On the day of the interview, applications and certificates will be screened to verify eligibility for the post applied for. Only candidates meeting the eligibility requirements in all respects will be considered for the Personal Interview. Depending on the number of candidates, interviews may continue up to 08:00 PM on the same day and, if required, on the next day as well, in which case candidates must make their own arrangements for stay.

Only candidates who have registered online and report with a printout bearing a valid registration number will be considered. Candidates who have not submitted their online application will not be entertained.
How to Apply
- Step 1: Eligible candidates need to apply through the online registration system on the EIL website. Visit the career link at www.engineersindia.com.
- Step 2: Read all instructions given on the website carefully.
- Step 3: Fill in the online form with correct details. While entering percentage of marks, round off to the lower whole number (e.g., 60.9 should be entered as 60); round off CGPA to the lower decimal (e.g., 6.95 should be entered as 6.9).
- Step 4: Before starting registration, keep the following scanned documents ready: a latest passport-size colour photograph in .jpg/.jpeg format (not more than 75 KB) and a signature in .jpg/.jpeg format (not more than 25 KB).
- Step 5: Candidates need not send a printout of the registered application form. Instead, they must take a printout of the application form (6 copies), affix a colour photograph, and bring it while reporting for the walk-in interview.
Documents Required
Candidates must produce the following documents (with a self-attested photocopy set) at the time of interview:
- 6 copies of the duly filled and submitted online application form with a recent colour photograph affixed.
- Original valid photo identity issued by the Government of India (Driving License/PAN Card/Passport/Voter ID/Aadhar Card).
- Original Date of Birth proof – Matriculation/Class X certificate/Birth Certificate.
- Original certificates of educational qualification – Matriculation/Class X/HSC/Degree/Post Graduation mark sheets and passing certificates of all semesters/years.
- Proof of norms adopted by the University/Institute to convert CGPA/OGPA/CPI or letter grade into percentage. If such proof cannot be produced, percentage will be calculated as per the conversion table below.
- Original experience certificates for all declared experience, clearly indicating date of joining, date of separation and nature of work handled.
- On demand, additional documents such as offer letter, confirmation order, pay slips, PF statement, ESI Card, Bank Statement, etc., to substantiate employment.
- Currently working candidates must produce offer letter, confirmation order, pay slips, Identity Card, PF statement, ESI Card, Bank Statement, etc.
- Original SC/ST Certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable.
- Valid OBC-NCL certificate (uploaded at the time of applying, valid as on the closing date of 12.10.2026), if applying under OBC-NCL category.
- Original valid EWS Certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable.
- Original Disability Certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable.
- Discharge Certificate, undertaking and Proforma of Certificate for Ex-Servicemen in the prescribed format, if applicable.
Note: In case of non-availability of any original document to meet the eligibility criteria, the candidate will not be considered for further selection process.

- The cut-off date for educational qualification, relevant post-qualification experience and upper age limit is 31.08.2026.

No. Where the qualifying minimum marks requirement is 60%, candidates with marks below 60% are not eligible to apply.
Q2. I have filled the online application form. Where do I send it?
You are not required to send the application to EIL. You only need to submit it online and retain a copy for future reference.
Q3. I entered wrong details in the online registration form. Can I change it?
Yes, you can edit your application until the close of registration. Follow the same process used for applying the first time, using the same e-mail ID, make the required changes and click "finish" to save and generate the registration number.
Q4. I registered online but forgot to take a printout. How can I get it now?
You can take a printout of your filled application by clicking the "Print Application" link against advertisement no. HRD/Rectt./Advt./2026-27/10. This link will be available on the website after the last date of online registration.
Q5. I have 6.6 CGPA, but the application requires percentage only. What should I enter?
You must specify the equivalent percentage as per the norms adopted by your University/Institute. Documentary proof must be submitted at the time of interview; if unavailable, percentage will be calculated using the conversion table given in the detailed advertisement.
Q6. Can a candidate with an AMIE qualification apply?
No. Only candidates with BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) qualification can apply; AMIE does not fulfil the requirement for this recruitment.
Q7. Is there any relaxation in the minimum qualifying percentage for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates?
No. There is no relaxation in the minimum percentage of marks in educational qualification for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates.
Q8. Is this a regular post, and will I get a regular pay scale after the fixed term?
No. This is purely a fixed tenure position, and no claim for regular appointment in EIL will be entertained on completion of the fixed term.
