Eligibility

Four conditions apply to everyone, as stated in the notification:
- Only candidates who completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates can apply.
- The qualifying examination must have been passed in the last five years: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.
- Candidates who appeared in the qualifying examination but whose result was not declared or available by the last date of application are not eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training, are undergoing it now, or have job experience of one year are not eligible.
Age Limit
You must be at least 18 years old and no more than 28 years old on 31 October 2026. Reservation follows the guidelines of the Government of Chhattisgarh, with applicable age relaxation. The notification does not give category-wise relaxation figures.

For graduate and diploma apprentices, 50% of the stipend is paid by BSP and 50% comes from BOPT under DBT mode. This is a training stipend, not a salary.
Selection Process
There is no written exam mentioned. Candidates are shortlisted on academic merit through the walk-in process. Class X marks carry 30% weight, and Degree/Diploma/ITI marks, as applicable, carry 70%. How many are selected in each category depends on the vacancies available in various categories and disciplines.
Marks have to be entered as a percentage. If you have a CGPA, convert it using your board or university norms, because the same may be checked during document verification.

Registration on a government portal comes first, and which portal depends on your category. For ITI (Trade Apprentices)

For Degree / Diploma

Other Conditions
- Bhilai Steel Plant will not provide accommodation during training. Apprentices make their own arrangements.
- BSP is not liable to pay any Travel Allowance to applicants.
- Engagement depends on being declared medically fit as required by the Apprentices Act, 1961. The certificate must be issued by a Govt. doctor, and the seal must carry the doctor's medical registration number.
- Management can cancel the selection process at any time, its decision on selection is final, and it may or may not fill vacancies in any trade or discipline depending on the availability of candidates.
